Oligarchy of the Masses
Lyrics and Music by Victor Snow, 2015
Lay the blame for all your failures
At the feet of your betters
(It's all right, not your fault, it's all beyond your control)
The 1% holds you down,
Or maybe it's the 47
(Don't matter, as long as I can find a scapegoat for your plight
Give me your trembling hand
We're one vote away from the promised land!
An Oligarchy of the Masses
Constructed by the middle classes
Enabled by the very ones
Who claim they want to tear it all down, come on tear it on down.
It's the evil, godless heathens,
Profaning all that's holy
(It's all right, they won't win, but I'm the only one who can stop them now )
It's the hating hypocrites,
Fighting to keep you in your place
(Don't matter, they'll die off, and leave the world to enlightened minds)
Can't you almost smell the victory?
But I need cash before delivery!
An Oligarchy of the Masses
Constructed by the middle classes
Enabled by the very ones
Who claim they want to tear it all down, come on tear it on down.
I am your savior, come down to save you, never mind you've heard this all before
Get behind my banner, I'll count the spoils, while you fight the phantom enemy
An Oligarchy of the Masses
Constructed by the middle classes
Enabled by the very ones
Who claim they want to tear it all down, come on now tear it on down.
Oligarchy of the masses
Carried on the backs of asses
Worker drones, lobotomized
Carrying the water for their slave master overlords
You ain't tearing it down, you ain't tearing it down
You ain't tearing it down, you ain't tearing it down
You ain't tearing it down, you ain't tearing it down

You Cannot Save Us

You Cannot Save Us
All lyrics and music by Victor Snow
Walk through this door, you say, it's a window to a better future
Turn away from selfish thoughts and embrace the whole.
Cooperative existence will be the new reality.
Free from strife and free from hate, when you accept your role.
------
You cannot save us from ourselves
You cannot chain our lives to someone else
You cannot bend the will of the free (You will not break us)
You will not rule us with your zealotry, your ecology, your theology, oh no
------
Do not think for yourself, you say, because the words are clearly written
How you are to live each day is carved in stone
And I will be the arbiter, the interpreter, of the sacred will
For in my hand I wield the blessed holy sword
I don't care what your god tells you.
I don't care how you think the world should be.
I don't care if my words offend you.
And I'll be damned if I'm enslaved to some utopian dream.

Shatter the World

All music and lyrics by Victor Snow
Walk on back right through those hazy memories and lies
Talk it back, but maybe frame it in a different light
Hold it back and only speak of what I need to know
Fold it back and tell me what I see, it isn't so
Shatter the world and tell me how I caused the broken glass,
It's all my fault, this shame I've brought, tell me what to do
Oh please absolve yourself of any thought of castigation
No reprobation, no condemnation
How could I doubt your truth?
Maybe I'm not as smart, as I once thought I was
But something does not add up in all your jumbled words
4,2,3,1 what?
Maybe a little slower for the dumb and blind
Maybe have some compassion for the lesser kind
I've got your glasses on
Quite a nice shade of rose
It's all in front of me
A sight to behold.
But it seems I cannot walk
In a straight line
Since I put reality out of my mind
